So many changes!

Like so many people who have their own sites, I have not updated mine in a while. There’s been a lot that has happened since my last entry.
Most important is the Big Move of 2023. Chapelwood moved from its ‘birthplace’ in a garage in Orlando to its own dedicated building in Ocala, FL. There’s no pushing machinery around to get the cars in at night. There’s no frustration of constantly tracking sawdust into our home from the garage. The space is perfect with access for easy unloading of inbound exotic woods, and outbound shipping of nice things.
There are other changes as well, with machine upgrades, including a SawStop table saw. Not only is it safer than the 1990’s Craftsman, it’s just a better machine that has taken the big “roughing out” work to a whole new level.
And some things haven’t changed. I’m closer now to my supplier of domestic cherry, maple, and walnut, ….who also happens to be my supplier of exotics like bocote, padauk, oroke. I’m exploring some more minimalist designs and new kinds of items that will be coming soon. And there are new ways I’m working to get Chapelwood things into the hands of people who want them.
I’m not happy that you can’t order through my site yet and I’m working on that. You can, however, send me a note through the contact page if you need something. Let me know that you have something you’d like to have made…even if it’s just an idea. Those ideas often become the best and most meaningful things.
