What, who, where is Chapelwood?

Well, I'm glad you asked!! Here's a little information on what we are about.

If you're just a one person show, then why do you use "we" all the time?

Chapelwood is about fine woodworking. But it would be inaccurate to say that this is just one person's idea of what to design, what to make, how to create, etc. Chapelwood is constantly changing, growing, and questioning. I love to talk with people about ideas, beliefs, and deeper things. Exploring these is something that can't be done alone. It can only be done by connecting with all kinds of people with all kinds of backgrounds and experiences. The 'we' is everyone that I talk with...friends, acquaintances, business people, and sometimes complete strangers who end up sharing a little bit of themselves.

Where are you located?

Chapelwood is physically located in Orlando, FL. The shop is a flexible and creative space and most of my machinery is rescued from the scrapyard and carefully restored to near new condition. I have some new machinery, but I also have machines from the 1930's, 40's, 80's, and 90's and early 2000's.

What else should I know about Chapelwood and your work?

Life is much more than what we see. If you are looking for mass-produced wood furniture and gifts, this might not be the best place to spend your time. If you are looking to find something created to reflect something deeper, then this is a great place for you. There are standard things that are created here, but the intent of each piece is to help you connect with something bigger than yourself...your beliefs, your friends, your heritage, your space.
